Fraudster facing jail says: 'Bookies rob from us, so I couldn't give a f**k mate'

A man boasted to hundreds of people on social media that he "beat the bookies" just hours after appearing in court.

Michael Shaw, 38, from Bootle, appeared on TikTok live on his account, Scousersinavan0, and told his followers he pleaded guilty in Liverpool Magistrates Court on Wednesday, February 15. He was charged with conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation for offences between September 2017 and May 2018.

The charge read: "Between September 5, 2017 and May 31, 2018 in the county of Merseyside you conspired together with other persons to commit fraud by making a false representation, namely that you were entitled to cash obtained from gaming machines, intending to make again, for yourself namely cash."

In an hour long TikTok live Shaw boasted he was "the bookies fraudster" and that he had "beat the bookies."

After changing his plea from not guilty to guilty, he told his followers: "What will be will be you know what I mean. I'm sorry I done it, and I should never have done it. If I could go back in time."

After this ECHO article went online Shaw told his Instagram followers "I'm not boasting about it, I'm owning it."

When asked by a follower if he had "honestly done it" he said: "Yeah I did, I done it. Bookies rob from us, so I couldn't give a f**k mate.

"There's no shame in this, I don't feel embarrassed at all [about] what I done, I don't care. It's not defrauding vulnerable people, nothing like that, it's taking off of the bookies.

"And people really, really, need to understand this, the bookies rob from us."

He then added he would not be taking a bag with him when he returns to court to be sentenced on March 15. He said: "If anybody wants to give me a character reference, get over to our Instagram."

Speaking more about the criminal case against him, he described how he "beat the motherf*****s who rob off all of us".

He said: "It's not a bad crime, it's something where you can actually hold your head high. I beat the bookies. I didn't go with ballys [balaclavas] on with f*****g guns going "give me all your money". I didn't do all that, I didn't go in with crowbars opening f*****g machines.

"I f*****g beat the bookies. I beat the bookies, not a lot of people can say that. I beat the motherf*****s who rob off all of us."

"People think I'm mad talking on social media about it, but why? I've pleaded guilty. I'm guilty. They had us."

Shaw has a second TikTok account Scousersinavan with 70,000 followers where he and his girlfriend have documented transforming a van to live in.
