A man may be blinded in one eye after a “brutal and cowardly attack” by an man he bumped into at a nightclub.
Greater Manchester Police said the 28-year-old victim was on a night out in Hula Bar, West Didsbury, in the early hours of 1 April.
“He and the unknown offender bumped into each other at the bar,” a spokesperson said.
“When the victim went to shake the offender’s hand in apology, he was hit in the face with a glass, causing a serious injury to one eye and leaving a five inch cut across his face.”
The attacker left the bar in an unknown direction and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Constable Philip Whiting said the "brutal and cowardly assault" left the victim likely to be blinded in one eye.
Detective Sergeant Dave Ogden added: “I want people to focus on the events that led up to the man being assaulted and what happened afterwards.
“There were a lot of people in the bar who would have seen exactly what happened and we need them to get in touch with us so we can build a better picture and find those responsible.”
