Man bitten by suspected brown snake in NSW

The 77-year-old man suffered a serious reaction after he was bitten by the snake in northwest NSW. (AAP)

A 77-year-old man has been hospitalised after being bitten by what's believed to have been a brown snake in northwest NSW.

The man was flown by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter from Warialda to Tamworth Hospital just before midday on Friday.

He had suffered a serious reaction to a snakebite and was in a serious condition, according to the Rescue Helicopter service
