Man behind bars after threatening behaviour in Craigneuk and assaulting officer

A man has been sent to prison following an incident in Craigneuk.

Mark Langford was put behind bars after admitting two charges against him at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.

On June 22, in Laurel Drive and whilst enroute and at Motherwell Police Office and University Hospital Wishaw, the 25-year-old repeatedly shouted, swore, made offensive remarks and refused to leave an address when asked to do so.

Langford, no fixed address, also caused damage to household items, made threats of violence and uttered sexual remarks.

He also threatened to cause damage to property, struggled with police and refused to desist when asked to do so.

Langford also admitted attacking an officer at the police station by making threats of violence towards him, struggling with the officer and spitting at him.

Sheriff Shiona Waldron sentenced Langford to eight months in prison.
