A man who struck a man in the face with a brick leaving his victim with a severe injury has been jailed.
Brian Randall, of Castlehill Road, Overtown, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week for sentencing having being found guilty of carrying out the assault at a court date in August.
On May 18, at an address in Firtree Road, Newmains, Randall attacked the man who he then cracked on the head with a brick.
In court this week, Sheriff Linda Nicolson insisted prison was the only option for 27-year-old Randall and sentenced him to 12 months behind bars.
