A man has been jailed for two years and three months after he was caught with a knife at a shop in Shotts.
James Weightman, 40, of Deas Road, Shotts, was sentenced at Hamilton Sheriff Court.
He admitted illegal possession of a blade at The Old Wine Shop in Shottskirk Road on December 9.
An allegation that he brandished the knife in the premises was dropped.
The sentence was reduced from three years because of Weightman’s early guilty plea.
