A man who battered his mum's carer to death with a hammer in front of her eight-year-old son has been seized by police in Turkey.
Tragic Nursel Bircan was so badly disfigured after the horror attack that she could only be identified with a DNA test when her body was found.
Kamil Hakan Karabulut attacked the 39-year-old carer after a furious row at his mum's family home in Istanbul on Sunday, police said.
Bircan had been caring for Karabulut's 84-year-old mother who is currently suffering with dementia.
But following the angry row, Karabulut, 56, took a hammer and hit the carer up to 10 times before she fell unconscious to the ground.
Neighbours who heard the victim screaming immediately alerted the police and ambulance crews.

Bircan was pronounced dead at the scene around 15 minutes later, despite the efforts of paramedics.
Her remains were handed to her family after the attack, and she was later buried in the family cemetery.
But Bircan's heartbroken brother Yuksel said that his sister's body was 'unrecognisable' when he saw her.
He said: "They called us on Sunday and said 'your sister was involved in an incident and you need to come here'.
"We learned that the incident directly involved a woman's murder.
"They told us that the woman's son and my sister had an argument at the home.
"He had a hammer with him. She passed out when he first hit her head. He hit her head with a hammer five or 10 times.
"Her face was not completely recognisable."

He added: "The police came 15 minutes after the incident. My nephew told me, 'After the incident the man changed, the police came'."
Karabulut was immediately arrested at the scene and has been in custody ever since.
He has also reportedly admitted to committing the murder, according to local media reports.
Yuksel added: "This needs to be prevented. Femicides must be prevented. Penalties must be increased if necessary, whatever is necessary must be done."
The investigation into tragic Nursel Bican's death continues, while suspect Kamil Hakan Karabulut remains in the custody of Turkish police.
