Man 'barricades' himself into Scots home as cops deal with ongoing incident

An ongoing incident in Aberdeen has sparked a police warning to stay away from the area after a man barricaded himself into a home.

Emergency services are currently on the scene at a property in Wales Street.

Officers are urging members of the public to stay away from the area while the incident remains ongoing.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known but officers say there is no threat to the wider public.

A Police Scotland statement said: "Officers are dealing with an ongoing incident after a man barricaded himself in a house in Wales Street, Aberdeen.

"The incident is contained and there is no threat to the wider public but people are being asked to avoid the area."
