Man banned from entering 'every self-service retail establishment' in town centre

A man has been given a court order prohibiting him from entering a number of shopping centres in Wigan for a year.

Kelvin Sharratt, of no fixed abode, appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Thursday (May 27) for persistent anti-social behaviour.

In court, he was issued with a 12 month Community Order alongside a Criminal Behaviour Order.

The orders prevent Mr Sharratt from entering 'every self-service retail establishment' in Wigan town centre for the next 12 months.

These include The Grand Arcade, The Galleries Shopping Centre and Wigan Market Hall.

Greater Manchester Police revealed brief details of Mr Sharratt's court appearance on its Wigan West Facebook page on Saturday.

The post said. “On Thursday the 27th May, Kelvin Sharratt of no fixed abode, was issued with a Community Order and a Criminal Behaviour Order at Wigan Magistrates Court for 12 months which prevents him entering every self-service retail establishment in Wigan town centre..

“... This was as a result of persistent anti-social behaviour and other criminal activity in the town centre.”
