Man banned from driving after police chase in several streets

A man has been banned from driving after a police chase around city streets and an arrest on Tuesday, February 18.

Aaron Bland, 32, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, February 20, where he admitted dangerous driving and having no insurance.

Lee Shepherd, prosecuting, suggested the incident was too serious to be sentenced by JPs.

He told the court: "There was a police chase."

District Judge Leo Pyle ordered probation reports on Bland, whose address was given as Maple Street, Nottingham.

He sent the case to Nottingham Crown Court where Bland is due to be sentenced on March 12.

The judge imposed an immediate driving ban and ordered Bland not to sit in the front seats of any vehicle.

He told Bland: "I impose an interim disqualification from driving. If you drive you will be in breach of your bail conditions and will commit a further offence."

Bland, who was represented by solicitor Serena Cousin, replied: "Thank you."

No details were given about Bland's driving but the charge refers to Woodside Road, Wollaton Road, Broadgate and Station Road.

A crown court judge will decide on the length of any driving ban.
