A man waiting to be sentenced after pleading guilty to approaching police brandishing a carving knife in Newcastle has pleaded guilty to two unrelated charges, as the scheduled sentencing over the Hamilton South incident was again pushed back.
Mitchel Randell, otherwise known as Mitchell Dean Randall, pleaded guilty in Newcastle Local Court on Tuesday to one count each of trespassing, willful and obscene exposure in a public place and using an offensive weapon to commit and indictable offence.
The court heard these charges related to an incident in April this year.
Randell did not apply for bail in court on Tuesday and remains in custody.
It comes after the 28-year-old pleaded guilty in June to approaching police with a carving knife at Hamilton South in an ugly incident captured on camera and sparking a torrent of abuse towards police from bystanders.
Randell had been listed for sentencing in Newcastle Local Court on Tuesday, but all his matters were adjourned to Thursday.
