Man attacks woman and threatens bar staff in Nottingham

A man has admitted to threatening bar staff and attacking a woman.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to Lloyds Bar in Carlton Street after reports of an incident where a suspect shouted and threatened the staff.

The officers arrived at 9:10pm on Monday August 30 and arrested the man on suspicion of using threatening behaviour.

After further investigation it was alleged the suspect had also assaulted a woman and he was further arrested.

Jake Barker, 27, of Pearson Street, New Basford, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 1 and pleaded guilty to charges of using threatening behaviour and assault by beating.

He was granted conditional bail and will reappear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on September 7 for further sentencing.

Detective Sergeant Nicola Faulkner, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The force takes all reports of violence and threats to public order and community safety seriously and, as this swift action shows, we will always take appropriate action to keep people safe.”
