Man attacked with 'sharp weapon' during early morning incident in Glasgow

Cops are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in an early morning incident involving a 'sharp weapon' in Glasgow.

Officers from Police Scotland were called to the Union Street area of the city, near Central train station, around 1.40am on Monday, March 16.

The 23-year-old was found to have been seriously assaulted, however his condition is unknown at this time.

A 'sharp weapon' is believed to have been involved in the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.40am, officers were called to the Union Street area of Glasgow following reports of a 23-year-old man being seriously assaulted.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full details.

"Anyone with information is urged to contact Police on 101, quoting incident 0228 of 16 March.

"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous."
