A man fled to the CTA Green Line after a relative cut him with a broken bottle Friday in Garfield Park on the West Side.
The altercation happened about 8:10 p.m. at a home in the 4700 block of West Huron Street, Chicago police said. The man’s relative hit him with a broken glass bottle, lacerating his neck, face and ear.
Officers were called to the Pulaski Green Line station after the victim walked there and boarded a train, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
Green Line service was suspended between about 8:44 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. as Area North detectives investigated, according to police and service alerts from the CTA.
The man who attacked him was taken into custody, and charges are pending, police said.
