Man attacked as he crossed the road in Warrington

A 49-year-old man was taken to hospital with a head injury after he was assaulted in Warrington.

Police said the man was hit on the back of the head as he crossed Padgate Lane at around 4.10pm on April 13.

The offender then walked away from the scene with another man.

The offender is described as tall, with a thin build and was wearing a black tracksuit with the hood up.

The victim was taken to Warrington Hospital and treated for injuries to his head.

Cheshire Police have now appealed for information about the assault.

PC Sophie Ellis, from Warrington's Local Policing Unit, said : “We have been following a number of lines of enquiry but are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the assault take place.

“I would also ask those with CCTV in this area or dash cam footage if they were driving past at the time to contact us.”
