Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in his car on Sunday night in Meath.
The incident occurred at around 8pm last night in the Balrath Woods area of Burtonstown.
It is understood that two unidentified men approached the car and attacked the 40-year-old, leaving him with numerous stab wounds.
He was brought to the hospital and was treated for his injuries - which were not life-threatening.
This afternoon, gardai are asking for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information to come forward.
They are appealing to anyone who was near the entrance to Balrath Woods, Burtonstown, between 7.30 – 9pm on Sunday, December 26, 2021, and who may have noticed any people or vehicles, to contact investigating gardai.

Any road users who may have been passing the area at this time and who have dash-cam footage are also asked to make this available to gardai.

In a statement, An Garda Siochana confirmed: “The incident is believed to have occurred at approximately 8:00 pm.
“A man, aged in his 40s, was in his car at this time when two males approached the vehicle and attacked him. The man received a number of stab wounds.
“He later received treatment at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”
Investigations are ongoing.
