Man attacked after gang of eight robbers burst into his home

A man was viciously attacked after a gang of eight robbers burst into his home.

Police have launched an investigation and issued an appeal for witnesses as he recovers from the ordeal.

The 37-year-old was taken to hospital after the 9.30am attack.

He's since been discharged, police said.

Greater Manchester Police, however, haven't disclosed the extent of any injuries he suffered.

The man, who hasn't been named, was at home on Borrowdale Road, Middleton, at the time.

He was assaulted by one of the eight men, who went on to ransack the house.

It's not yet known whether anything was taken.

In a statement, GMP said: "At around 9.30am yesterday morning, police were called to a report of an aggravated burglary at a property on Borrowdale Road, Middleton.

"Enquiries have established that around eight men entered the property and one of the offenders assaulted a 37-year-old man who was at home at the time.

"The offenders ransacked the property, although it is not known as to what, if anything was taken at this time.

"The victim attended hospital but has since been discharged.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
