Man assaulted by teen in Scots park as gang vandalise car causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage

Police are appealing for information after a man was allegedly assaulted by a teenager at the weekend.

Around 9.30pm on Saturday, on Hill Terrace, at the entrance to Springfield Park, Arbroath, a man was approached by a gang of youths who had been gathering in the park.

One teen then allegedly assaulted him and as the group left the area the victims car was vandalised - causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

There were around 20 individuals in the gang but the person who assaulted the man is described as being a white male aged between 14-18.

He was around 5ft 8in height with ginger or blonde hair and was wearing a red jacket at the time.

Officers are carrying out increased patrols in the area due to a rise in anti-social behaviour and littering at the park.

Local teams will continue to patrol the park regularly in the coming weeks.

Anyone with information on the incident is being urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 4410 of 17th April.
