Man asked to leave pub urinated on floor, attacked staff and stabbed punter

A man who urinated on a pub floor went on to violently attack staff with a glass bottle before stabbing someone after he was asked to leave.

Brenton Aherne, 39, was jailed for 10 years for his horrifying attack at The North Western in Milton Keynes.

Aherne was asked to leave the pub after he started peeing on the floor.

But when staff politely asked him to leave, Aherne snapped and began to throw a glass bottle.

He then pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed the victim, who sustained a serious injury.

Although Aherne fled the scene, he was arrested the same day and was found in possession of two knives.

Following a six day trial at Aylesbury Crown Court, Aherne, from Beanhill, Milton Keynes, admitted one count of wounding with intent and two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Investigating officer, Police constable Laura Wilson, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: "Aherne's actions were reckless and dangerous, resulting in the victim sustaining a serious injury.

"This behaviour will not be tolerated and we work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice.

"Thames Valley Police takes knife crime seriously and we are working hard to disrupt the small minority who endanger themselves and others by choosing to carry knives."
