Man asked 'cheeky' train passenger to move from booked seat

A train passenger who insisted a woman move from the seat he had booked has been praised by others on TikTok. The man filmed the incident and put it online – with the video going viral and racking up over 400,000 likes.

In the video, the man – who goes by @mr_boris_becker – walks up to the seat and politely says to the woman sat there: “My place is [seat] 103.” However, instead of moving, she suggests he finds somewhere else to sit, telling him there are other seats available, the Mirror reports.

Unwilling to back down, the man responds: “It's gonna be difficult. My place is 103 and I need my place. I'm so sorry.” The woman then says she understands and begins gathering her things to move.

But at that point, another woman in the same carriage interjects. The audio quality of the video is not good enough for viewers to be able to hear what she says, but she appears to be questioning the man's actions, before shaking her head at him.

He repeats that he has reserved the seat and tells her to calm down. In the comments, thousands of people shared their views on the encounter, with most people taking the man's side.

“Very very cheeky, just get up say sorry and go...”, @user8359023819606 said. While @okidocman added: “Why doesn't [she] go and find herself another seat? She obviously saw some available places.”

Chris wrote: “Why did the other two hop in like he's wrong. That's the seat he paid for and it's the one he should be sitting in.” And @sleekchao put: “The other one was trying to make a scene. Thank you my brother for standing your ground.”

Jenny also backed the man, saying: “This happened to me recently and someone butted in. I said 'if you want her to sit so bad, you can give her your seat. I'm sitting in the seat I paid [for].” And Marc questioned: “Why should he go 'find' another place?”
