A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing 30 inflatable hot tubs from a showroom in Dorset.

Burglars are believed to have broken into Ambassador Pools and Spas near West Stour while it was closed over the weekend of 8 and 9 February.

Dorset Police said the hot tubs, together with pumps and power units worth a total of £15,000, were driven away in a van stolen from the site.

The van was then driven to Stourhead before being set on fire.

A 56 year-old man from Gillingham was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, theft and handling stolen goods.

He was later released under investigation.

Officers are appealing for information about the incident.

“It was reported that a burglary occurred between 1am on Saturday 8 February 2020 and 2pm on Sunday 8 February 2020 at Ambassador Pools and Spas near West Stour,” a spokesperson said.

“Thirty boxes of inflatable hot tubs were allegedly stolen, along with pumps and power units. It was reported that the items were transported in a van, which was also allegedly stolen from the site.”

The missing hot tubs have not been found.
