A man has been arrested following a series of antisemitic incidents in Barnet.
A 37-year-old man was arrested in the Hendon area on Friday on suspicion of religiously motivated criminal damage in connection with seven offences on Jewish premises.
Four synagogues and a private residence in Golders Green had a substance smeared on them, while liquid was thrown towards a school and a car on two other occasions, police said previously.
The suspect was taken into custody where he remains, police said.
Enquiries continue, and there is currently an increased police presence in the area.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, responsible for policing the North West Command, said: “This is a significant development in our investigation following substantial CCTV enquiries by officers. We remain in close contact with the local Jewish community as we continue to provide our support and reassurance.”
Anyone with information which can assist the investigation is asked to contact the Met via 101 quoting 1071/03SEP.
