Man arrested over SA sword incident

A man will face court after police arrested a 26-year-old with a Samurai sword in Adelaide's CBD. (AAP)

A man has been charged with aggravated assault and carrying an offensive weapon after people were threatened with a Samurai sword in Adelaide's CBD.

Police were called to Rundle Street early on Friday morning where it's alleged the 25-year-old was threatening the public and passing vehicles with the sword.

An officer tackled the man, taking him to the ground. No-one was injured during the incident.

He is expected to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court later on Friday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident but is yet to speak to police is asked to come forward.
