Man arrested over 'public intoxication incident' after number of kids approached in North Dublin estate

A man who had allegedly approached a number of children was arrested by gardai over a "public intoxication incident" in a North Dublin housing estate.

Parents in Swords raised the alarm yesterday after a man had allegedly followed the kids around an estate and asked them to "go for ice-cream".

Gardai responded to the scene in Boroimhe and arrested a man who was taken to Swords Garda Station.

He was later charged to appear in court over a "public intoxication incident".

The spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí in Swords have arrested a male in his 30s following a public intoxication incident that occurred at approximately 2.30pm on 1st July 2019 at Boroimhe Rowan, Swords, Dublin.

"The male was detained at Swords Garda Station where he was charged to appear in court at a later date."
