Police have arrested a man in the mid-north town of Terowie and are interviewing him as part of a long-running investigation into the death of Martin Craig Meffert whose remains were found in a fireplace.
Mr Meffert, 23, was last seen on a bus going from Adelaide to Terowie, south-east of Peterborough, in February 2005.
He was never reported missing.
In October 2013, his partial-skeletal remains were found in a fireplace at a home at Terowie.
Police said the arrested man was expected to face court on Tuesday.
"A man has today been arrested," a police statement said.
"The man is currently being interviewed by police and is expected to face court in Port Pirie.
"Mr Meffert's death has been the subject of a long-running police investigation following a case review as part of Operation Persist."
