A man has been arrested following a fatal car crash on the M8 which killed three men and left five more seriously injured.
Emergency services raced to the scene of the one-vehicle incident westbound near to junction 31 at around 5am on Sunday, September 19.
The crash happened after a blue Audi Q7 left the road.
Two men, both aged 27, and one man, aged 31, were pronounced dead at the scene, with five others rushed to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The westbound carriageway remains closed amid a full collision investigation and police are appealing for further information.
Police Scotland confirmed a 35-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with road traffic offences.
In a statement, they added: "Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0860 of 19/09/21."
