A man has been arrested over five burglaries and a further two attempted burglaries, gardai have said.
Shortly after 11pm on Friday, July 31, gardai from Henry Street in Limerick city were on patrol on O'Connell street when they heard glass smashing.
They saw a man exit a business premises following an alleged burglary.
A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested and brought to Henry Street Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The man was also questioned and charged in relation to the following incidents on July 31 in Limerick city, gardai said:
Burglary at an office on Lower Cecil Street
Attempted burglary at an office on Lower Mallow Street
Burglary at an apartment on Lower Mallow Street
Burglary at an office on Lower Mallow Street
Attempted burglary at a café on Mallow Street
Burglary at a hair salon on O'Connell Street
He is due to appear before Limerick District Court this morning, August 2 at 10.30am.
