Man arrested over criminal damage at Clontarf Dart Station in Dublin

A man has been arrested in relation to criminal damage that happened at Clontarf Dart Station.

It happened on Wednesday at the Dart station in north Dublin.

Staff at the Dart depot told gardai about the incident after 7pm.

Officers arrived at the scene and arrested the man, who is aged in his early 20s. He was taken to Clontarf Garda Station where he was charged.

Investigations are ongoing, with the man due to appear in court in Dublin on Thursday.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said: “Gardai have arrested a man following an incident of criminal damage at Clontarf Dart Station on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

“Gardai were notified of this incident by staff from Clontarf Dart Depot at approximately 7:20pm and attended the scene.

“A man, aged in his early 20s, was arrested and conveyed to Clontarf Garda Station where he was subsequently charged. He is scheduled to appear at CCJ1 this morning.

“This investigation is ongoing."

This arrest follows an inter-agency operation by the gardai and Iarnrod Eireann, targeting incidents of graffiti and criminal damage on the north Dublin train line.
