Man arrested over alleged double murder on SA rural property

Police found two people dead when they arrived at the property north-east of Millicent.

A man has been arrested after allegedly killing two people at a rural property in South Australia's south-east.

Police were called to the property on Mount Macintyre Road in Kalangadoo, about 50 kilometres west of the Victorian border, just before 11:30pm on Saturday.

They found a man and a woman dead and arrested another man "without incident".

Police said the man would be charged later today and was likely to face court tomorrow.

They said they were not looking for any other offenders in relation to the deaths and that the three people were known to each other.

Major Crime detectives and Forensic Response officers travelled to the area this morning.

Nearby resident Ralph Aliberti said a man and a woman lived at the property with their children.

He said the incident was shocking and strange.

"Nothing like that happens around here," he said, adding he did not have any fears for his own safety.

Police are expected to release more details later today.
