Man arrested on suspicion of having meth-fuelled trained attack squirrel

A man was arrested after reportedly having a trained attack squirrel he fed with amphetamine.

Mickey Paulk, 35, was held after a chase in which he allegedly rammed an investigator's vehicle, Limestone County Sheriff's Office, in Alabama, USA, said on Twitter.

Paulk was already wanted by authorities for questioning over multiple arrest warrants unrelated to the squirrel named "Deeznuts", who had become infamous after police confirmed they had been warned about a meth-fuelled, trained attack squirrel.

US Network Waay TV reported that deputies said they had received a tip that Paulk had been giving the squirrel meth to keep it aggressive and using to attack.

Paulk laughed off that claim when speaking to WAAY 31 and in a Facebook post, Devon Live reports .

However, The Alabama Department of Conservation & Natural Resources issued a warrant for Mickey Paulk for illegal possession of a wild animal. He could be fined between $250 and $500, and possibly receive extra jail time.

Paulk told reporters last week that he was working on a plan for turning himself in to authorities.

But authorities said he was taken to Lauderdale County Jail after fleeing a motel on a stolen motorcycle.

It is unclear whether he has a lawyer.

Deeznutz could not be tested for meth and has been released.
