Police arrested a 33-year-old when called to an incident in Westbury-on-Trym.
Officers responded to reports from concerned members of the public early this afternoon. (April 1, 2020)
A man was arrested in the vicinity of Barclays Bank.
He was taken into custody.
The incident is not thought to be connected to a breach of coronavirus rules.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary told Bristol Live: "We were called to reports of a male acting suspiciously in High Street, Westbury-on-Trym, shortly before 12.50pm.
"He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place."
