Man arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis after police raid home

A man has been arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis after a warrant was executed in Ramsbottom.

Police carried out a search at a house on Whalley Road on Tuesday morning (January 19).

A man - aged 20 - was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity, police said.

He remains in custody for questioning.

Several police cars were pictured at the scene on Whalley Road earlier today.

Officers could be seen carrying out investigation work inside a house.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "On Tuesday 19 January 2021, police executed a warrant at a property on Whalley Road, Ramsbottom.

"A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity. He remains in police custody for questioning

"Enquiries are ongoing."
