Two people have been taken to hospital after emergency services were called to a crash at Callaghan Square, Cardiff, on Thursday afternoon.
South Wales Police, Welsh Ambulance Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue firefighters attended the two-vehicle collision just after midday on Thursday, May 21.
The collision involved a Citroen and a Mercedes. Photos taken at the scene show the roof of the Mercedes had been removed.
Police said a 29-year-old man from Butetown, Cardiff, has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after the incident.
Two people involved have been taken to hospital where their injuries are being assessed.


A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "At midday today emergency service were called to a road traffic collision which happened in Callaghan Square in central Cardiff.
"The collision involved a Citroen and a Mercedes. A 29-year-old man from Butetown has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
"The road is currently closed while investigations and vehicle recovery are taking place."
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today, 21 May, at approximately 12.12pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Callaghan Square, Cardiff. We responded with one emergency ambulance and one rapid response vehicle.
"Two patients were transported to the University Hospital of Wales.”
