Man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after car flips onto its roof in Ardwick

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car crashed and landed on its roof in Ardwick.

Police were called to Devonshire Street at 7.20pm on Monday night.

Only one vehicle was involved in the crash. The driver suffered minor injuries and was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving.

Devonshire Street is closed between Hyde Road and Stockport Road while police clear the wreckage.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called to a crash involving one vehicle on Devonshire Street at 7.20pm.

"One person, the driver, suffered minor injuries and was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving.

"The road is still closed."
