Motorist arrested on suspicion of drink driving after car crashes into house in Dunmurry

A motorist has been arrested by police after a car collided with a house in Dunmurry.

PSNI officers were called to the scene on the Glenburn Road in the early hours of this morning following the collision.

The image shared by police appears to show the white Peugeot vehicle having crashed through the front garden before colliding with the front wall of the property.

No-one was injured in the incident but extensive damage was caused to the house.

A PSNI West Belfast spokesperson said one person had been arrested.

They posted on Facebook: "Police attended the scene of a collision in the early hours of this morning. Thankfully no-one was hurt but extensive damage has been caused to a house on the Glenburn Road.

"The driver of the vehicle has been arrested for offences including suspicion of driving with excess alcohol and is currently in custody.

"If you can provide any further information in relation to the matter please phone us on 101 with reference 150 31/5/20."
