Man arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after crash in Fishponds

A man has been arrested after a two-vehicle crash in Fishponds.

Police were called to Oakdene Avenue, just off Fishponds Road by Eastville Park, at around 12.05pm on Thursday (April 16) to reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

A 34-year-old man was arrested by police and he is currently in custody.

There was a large police presence at the scene, with six police vehicles in attendance at one point.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop when requested by police, driving while disqualified and driving without third party insurance.

"He remains in custody."
