Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following serious assault in Grangetown, Cardiff

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in Grangetown, South Wales Police has confirmed.

Officers were called to a report of a stabbing at an address on Rutland Street at around 6.35pm on Wednesday, August 26.

Following the incident a man in his 40s was taken to hospital, but his injuries aren’t believed to be life threatening.

Armed officers were deployed to the area alongside divisional units on Wednesday.

A man, 44, was subsequently arrested in Newport in connection with the incident, and currently remains in police custody.
