Man arrested in police incident in Kingswood

A man has been arrested after police were called to an incident in Kingswood.

Officers responded to a concern for the welfare of a woman at an address yesterday (May 20) at 12.15pm.

The woman was taken into care by officers while a man was arrested.

Police will not reveal at this stage what the man was arrested on suspicion of.

Speaking to Bristol Live a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were received a call at approximately 12.15pm this afternoon (Wednesday 20 May) amid concern for the welfare of a woman in Kingswood. She is now in the safe care of officers.

"A man has been arrested. Enquiries are continuing.”
