Man arrested in connection with the disappearance of Emma Faulds

A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Emma Faulds.

Child support worker Emma, 39, has been missing since she was last seen in the Monkton area on Sunday, April 28, at 9.10pm.

A police spokesman said: "A 39-year-old man  has been arrested in connection with her disappearance  and enquiries are continuing."

Yesterday, forensic officers continued painstaking searches of a £250,000 home in Monkton.

A blue tent in the garden appeared to cover a vehicle outside the garage of the home in Fairfield Park.

Emma's blue BMW was removed by officers and undergoing a full forensic examination. Two other cars are also being examined.

A cadaver dog, used to sniff out human remains, was used in the hunt for Emma on Tuesday.

Emma’s family is utterly distraught at her disappearance and just want to know where she is.

Police have made a fresh appeal for public's help in finding Emma's whereabouts.

Emma, a former prison officer at Kilmarnock Prison, lives alone with her Westie dog, Maverick.

Enquiries carried out so far have revealed that Emma’s blue BMW car was outside her home address in Fullarton Street around 7:30am on Monday April 29.

Police said  anyone saw the car being driven and being parked outside Emma’s house, please do get in touch with officers as your information could prove significant in helping officers locate Emma.

Detectives continue to review CCTV for any images of Emma or her car in an effort to piece together her movements.  Detectives are still urging anyone who may have seen Emma’s car in the areas of Fairfield Park, Monkton and her home in Fullarton Street in Kilmarnock between late Sunday night and 7:30am on Monday morning when it was seen parked outside Emma’s home.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Fergus, who is leading this inquiry, said: “I am deeply concerned that there has been no contact from Emma.  She comes from a loving and close-knit family and is constantly in touch with them.  She also cares for her dog and she would never just leave him without ensuring he is being cared for. Given that there has been no contact from her, I cannot rule out the possibility that she may have come to harm.

“We continue to speak to Emma’s family and friends and people who know Emma in the hope that they can provide information which would assist us.  Members of the public are also providing information which is currently being assessed and I’m grateful for their contribution.

“I’m still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Emma’s blue BMW between Monkton and Kilmarnock.  It has a personalised registration, F5 EMA, please think back, did you see this car and where did you see it?”
