Man arrested in connection with shooting incident outside Corduff school

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that took place outside a west Dublin school yesterday.

The incident took place at 3.40pm at Riversdale Community College, Corduff as parents were getting ready to collect children. No one was injured in the incident.

Gardai confirmed the man had been arrested following two searches of the Corduff area this afternoon.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardai carried out two searches in the Corduff area this afternoon and during the course of the operation the man in his 20s was arrested. 

"He is detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, and can be detained for up to 72 hours. 

"We are appealing to any person in the vicinity of the Community College between 3p.m. and 3.40p.m. to contact Gardai at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

"In particular Gardai are looking for any person driving along Blanchardstown Road North or Corduff Grove who may have dashcam footage to make contact."

Gardai are also appealing to anyone who noticed any unusual activity in the vicinity of the school in recent days to make contact at Blanchardstown Garda Station at 01-6669700 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
