Man arrested in connection with series of flashing incidents in Scots village

Police have arrested a man in connection with a series of indecent exposure incidents in Perthshire.

One of the alleged victims of the 'distressing' crimes, that happened close to the small village of Luncarty, near Perth, was a woman in her 80s.

Officers were called in after reports of four incidents on Tuesday afternoon.

Police Scotland said the women had been targeted on a footpath near the River tay between 2pm and 3pm.

One incident happened at the bottom of Tayview Road which leads directly onto the River Tay while a second took place on the path next to Luncarty House that leads to Marshall Road.

Another two happened on the path that runs from Marshall Way down to the river and along the rear of Hatton Place and the path that runs behind Marshall Road.

This afternoon a police spokesman confirmed a man had been apprehended in connection with the allegations.

They said: “A 34-year-old man has been arrested following a number of incidents of indecent exposure near to the River Tay in Luncarty on Tuesday, 11 May.

“Enquiries are continuing.”
