Man arrested in connection with murder of Mark Deavin in Glenrothes

Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Mark Hacon-Deavin in Fife.

The 41-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene after being found injured in Glenrothes ' Boblingen Way at around 1.40pm on Saturday, July 17.

Soon after police launched a murder enquiry into Mark's death and yesterday we told how cops raided a home as part of their probe.

On Thursday night, officers confirmed a 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Mr Hacon-Deavin.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with police via 101 quoting incident number 0413 of July, 17.

Alternatively, information can be submitted through the dedicated portal at https://mipp.police.uk/operation/SCOT21S20-PO1.

In the wake of the news many locals paid tribute to Mark who was also known as 'Fester'.

One wrote: "Absolutely gutted Fester you were always such a nice lad and friend, R.I.P thinking of your family."

Another added: "So sad such nice guy thoughts are with his family at this really sad time."

Mark's family had previously released a statement through Police Scotland.

They said: "He was a much loved brother and uncle and will be sorely missed by all."
