A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted armed robbery in a Moray town.
The 29-year-old is due to appear in court today in relation to the incident that happened on Monday afternoon in Buckie.
It's alleged the male entered a shop on St Paul Street and presented a bladed weapon before he fled empty handed.
He is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court later today.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 4.45pm on Monday, 23 November, 2020, a man entered a convenience store on St Paul street where he presented a bladed weapon at a member of staff, before fleeing empty handed.
“The man is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 25 November, 2020.”
While Detective Sergeant, Robbie Williams, of Elgin CID, added: “We would like to thank the members of the public who shared and assisted with our appeal.”
