A man was arrested and quizzed by in relation to an alleged sexual assault in Dublin city centre before Christmas.
A student was reportedly dragged down a street in the early hours of December 2.
The young woman, who is believed to be in her 20s, was allegedly brought down a laneway beside Winetavern Street, near Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin Live reports.
The student, who is believed to be from Germany, rang 999 after the alleged incident and was in a "highly distressed state".
Gardai and emergency services located the woman near Wood Quay a number of minutes later.

The student was taken to hospital and assessed at a sexual-assault treatment centre.
The man was arrested last month in suspicion of the attack but was later released without charge.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí investigating the alleged sexual assault of a woman that is reported to have occurred in the early hours of December 2, 2018 in the Dublin 2 area arrested a male on March 11, 2019.
"He was detained at Kevin Street Garda Station on Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and was later released without charge."
A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
