A man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a child.
Merseyside Police received a report of a sexual offence and officers today, Wednesday November 3, made an arrest at the Scarisbrick Hotel on Lord Street in Southport.
A 34-year-old has been held on suspicion of sexual activity with a child.

He remains in custody with enquiries ongoing.
The investigation is in the "very early stages".
A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO : "We can confirm officers are today, Wednesday 3rd November, at the Scarisbrick Hotel on Lord Street in Southport following an allegation of a sexual offence.
"The investigation is in the very early stages.
"A 34 year-old has today been arrested on sexual activity with a child and is currently in custody.
"Enquiries remain ongoing."
