Man arrested in £35k drugs bust as cops raid property in Scots town

A man has been arrested after a £35,000 drugs bust in an Ayrshire town.

Cops in possession of a search warrant raided the property on Eglington Street in Beith this morning (Friday).

During the search - which happened at around 10am - a large quantity of alleged class B drugs were recovered by officers from Ayrshire Division’s Proactive Crime Team.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged for allegedly being concerned in the supply of the controlled drugs.

Local Area Commander, Chief Inspector Brian Shaw said: "We are committed to responding to the concerns of our communities and they tell us that drug dealing is an issue that they want their local officers to be tackling.

"Today’s action is one example of our commitment in this area and with the support of the public we can expect to see more drug dealers in North Ayrshire arrested.

"So I would ask anyone with information on those involved in supplying drugs to contact us."

Police Scotland can be contacted by calling 101 or dialling 999 in an emergency.

Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
