Man arrested for trespassing after locals spot figure trying to open car doors in Dublin

A man was arrested after residents spotted a lone figure trying to open car doors in a Dublin neighbourhood.

Gardai were alerted to a man trespassing on the driveway of a house on Brian Road in Marino just before 1 am on Wednesday.

The man, in his 40s, was arrested and taken to Clontarf Garda Station where he was charged with trespassing under the Public Order Act.

He is due to appear before the Dublin District Court next month.

A garda spokesman said: "Shortly before 1am on Wednesday, 20th October 2021, Gardaí received a report of a male trespassing on the driveway of a house in the Marino area.

"A man in his 40s was arrested in the area a short time later. He was taken to Clontarf Garda Station where he was later charged with Trespassing under the Public Order Act.

"He is due to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court next month in connection with the case."
