Man arrested for selling opium

The city police arrested a man selling opium in Chickpet and recovered 1.8 kg of opium from him.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a surprise raid and arrested Ratan Raja, 42, hailing from Rajasthan working at a shop in Chickpet. He used to procure opium from his home state, keep it in his scooter and was selling it to a loyal customer base in the old pete area. Police have also recovered a weighing scale, three mobile phones and ₹8000 in cash apart from his scooter.
