Man arrested for murder after being spotted moving girlfriend’s body in broad daylight

A man has been arrested for murder after he was spotted dragging his girlfriend’s corpse along a busy road in broad daylight.

Police in Hong Kong arrested a man named Wu on suspicion of murder yesterday after he was seen pushing the body of a woman, wrapped in a quilt, along a street.

The horrifying incident unfolded in Tin Shui Wai, a satellite town in northwestern New Territories, in Hong Kong.

Officers initially received shocking reports at 6am from a passer-by who saw the man pushing a wheel board along the street with what appeared to be a body on top.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested the man who is thought to be roughly 25 years old.

When they arrived they confirmed the woman, local reports have named as Ye, was not breathing and did not have a pulse. She was certified dead at the scene by paramedics.

The force said she was in her late 20s and an investigation is now underway.

Surveillance footage circulating on social media shows a man dragging the body along on the wheel board.

He can also be seen stopping at one point and leaning on a railing in an attempt to catch his breath.

Ms Ying told the outlet how she was on a run on the road, when she saw a man dragging something for about 100 metres in front of her.

At first she paid no attention to it until she was terrified to see a pair of feet and a belly sticking out.

She told HK01 she told her husband to call the police and made eye contact with the suspect but didn’t say anything as he walked on, dragging the body with him.

The site also reported that the victim and man were lovers and colleagues but had recently broken up.

A neighbour told them that Wu said she bullied him and was unfaithful.
