Man arrested for having fake stickers for free McDonald's coffee

Forgery and fraud are major problems, obviously, with everything from coins to stamps fitted with high-tech devices to stop anyone creating fakes.

But it appears there is also a black market in little stickers that can get you a free hot coffee.

Police who stopped a driver suspected of being in his car under the influence of drugs found sheets of fake McDonald's stickers in his car, reports LeedsLive .

The stickers are usually given away free when you buy a hot drink - and if you collect enough you get a free one.

West Yorkshire Police  arrested the man on suspicion of fraud, as well as on suspicion of the original driving offence.

Roads policing unit Steerside Enforcement Team tweeted: "Male arrested for drug driving in South Bradford also dealt with for a fraud offence when multiple sheets of fake McDonald's coffee stickers were found in his vehicle."

The tweet added: "It may seem inconsequential, but it is illegal to cheat a company like this. Just pay for your coffee!"
